Currently, there are over 200,000 financial advisors employed in the United States. Financial misconduct is widespread within the financial industry, with one in twelve financial advisors in the U.S. censured for abuses in 2018. Most investors express satisfaction with their financial planners because of receiving sound investment advice. However, it is also a fact that many investors have been victims of greed. Over 17,000 financial advisors face accusations of misconduct, financial abuse, and intentionally deceiving customers each year.
