Excerpt from Chapter three: The Branding of a Successful Firm. Sandy had carefully cultivated an image for himself that was picture perfect, unlike the actual picture of his family of origin. Behind the scenes of his image was a family history littered with mental illnesses and substance abuse. Both parents faced problems with the law and his mother had done a stint in prison. While growing up, Sandy witnessed his parents make one foolish financial decision after another and vowed this would never happen to him.
Unfortunately, he harbored more likenesses to his parents than he cared to admit.
