Elaina and Ben had worked hard in their respective careers with the hopes of retiring by age 62. Now, with Elaina’s sudden and misdiagnosed medical problem, Ben watched Elaina’s rapid decline and realized their retirement plans could be derailed. Meanwhile, their financial planner, Sandy Blackburn, was pressuring Ben to close on a hot tip and a great investment, promising twenty percent returns. Elaina may never work again and Ben considered Sandy’s promise of easy money.
