Staggering Statistics about Elder Fraud: For complaints filed by those over age 60, the losses continue to rise. The FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center receives thousands of complaints reporting a wide array of scams, many targeting the elderly. In 2023 the losses topped $3.4 billion for those over age 60. Combating elder fraud abuse remains a top priority for the FBI.
